Mangalore Beaches

Mangalore is a city located in between the waters of the Arabian Sea and the confluence of Netravathi and Gurpura rivers. The landscape is indeed out of the ordinary because the hills and the valleys are giving this place a charm that can hardly be competed with. There are two places that contribute to the large number of tourists that are visiting the region every year: the city itself with its tourist attractions and the Mangalore Beaches. They are famous worldwide and their natural beauty makes tourist fall in love with this place. The beaches are known as a paradise for visitors for a long time ago and nowadays are also referred to as "the entry point to Beach Country".

The most famous Mangalore Beach is Ullal Beach. It is located at 12 kilometers away from the city, on the banks of Netravathi River. The food industry is very well developed in the area as there are a lot of factories producing seafood and canned food.

Mangalore BeachTannirbavi Beach is said to be one of the best beaches in Dashkina Kannada. It is famous for the view it offers during the sunset. If this one is the best, Surathkal Beach is the cleanest. The lighthouse is also a famous tourist attraction and the beach is located at a few minutes away from Karnataka Regional Engineering College.

At 11 kilometers away from the Main City Bus Stand there is Someshwar Beach. It is easily accessible with a city bus, as well as the other beaches. Besides sun bathing, a giant rock that stands right on the beach also attracts curious tourists that are eager to see it.

Panambur Beach, also known as Panambur Port or Mangalore Port, is also receiving a lot of visitors, some of them interested in seeing the Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Factory and the Kudremurkh Iron One Company. The road to this company will also take you to the beach. Don't forget that for visiting the port you need a permit issued by the local authorities. This is the ninth largest cargo handling port.

Besides the Mangalore Beaches there are also other tourist attractions that will make your holiday interesting and enjoyable. The city of Mangalore is a blend of tradition and modernism and if interested in becoming familiar with its past, you can visit the numerous temples and churches. Because many ethnic communities live in the city you will find sacred places that belong to a variety of religions.
