Ernakulam Beaches

Ernakulam Beaches are located near the Cochin city in Kerala. They are a well known tourist destination because they are an excellent place if you want to get rid of stress and to unwind. They are also popular because of the Cochin Beach festival which takes places every year on New Years Eve. Tourists worldwide are also fascinated about the European cultural influences in the area.

There is no better way to relax and refill you with energy than to spend some time on Ernakulam (Kochi) Beaches. The delicate sand, the gentle sea waves and the cooling breeze will sure have a soothing effect and will make you forget all your worries. Kochi Beaches are a year round destination, so they can be visited whenever you feel the desire or the need.

Ernakulam BeachesCherai Beach and Fort Kochi Beach are the most famous Kochi Beaches. Fort Kochi Beach is probably the most relaxing spot you have ever seen because the waters are very calm and the coconut trees and luxuriant bushes also contribute to the serene atmosphere. Even though the beach is pretty rocky, it still is one of the most beautiful beaches in Kerala.

People come here in large numbers to put behind them the noise and the agitation of big cities. It is also an ideal picnic spot and, if you are not in the mood for a picnic, you can also enjoy a savory meal in one of the many restaurants.

Fort Kochi was nothing but a fisherman village before its tremendous beach was discovered and the place is still famous for the fishing nets you can see in the area. Even though now it is highly populated by tourists, Fort Kochi Beach still is a peaceful and a calm place. No one looking for a calm holiday could ask for more.

Cherai Beach is at 35 kilometers away from Cochin and at only 20 kilometers away from the International Airport of Cochin. It is the perfect place for swimming and for sun bathing because it is a very clean beach. It is close to the city and this makes it the perfect option for a weekend getaway.

Cherai Beach is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Kerala and it is also known as "Princess of the Queen" of the Arabian Sea. Sometimes lucky tourists can even see dolphins playing. They make quite a show and everybody is admiring them. Cherai Beach is also suitable for families because there is a park for children right on the beach.
